web banners

In one of my classes, we've been working on making a web banner in flash. I have recently been noticing all the banners many popular businesses are using on their websites.  Bestbuy, Walgreens, and Verizon Wireless all use flash in their websites mainly to promote an add they are currently having. They all use flash to their advantage and it  really works well for these companies.

I found this image in the book "Extreme Design". It caught my eye because of all the typography and imagery the designer used to design this flyer. It was made for a band named DeBeyerd. I really think the designer put a lot of thought into this piece because there is so much going on in this design and everything seems to be in place. Nothing seems too bright, loud, out of place or tacky. It's a great design and it seems to be a famous band!

This image was found in the book "20th Century: A Century of Graphic Design". I really didn't understand the concept of this design until I looked at it a little closer. I really thought it was clever how it's someone walking all over a heart. It caught my eye and made me want to know more about the image. I thought the designer was very creative in making this piece and really put some thought into his work.

This image was designed for a magazine ad for Safaricom. I found this image in the book "World Graphic Design" by Geoffrey Caban. I really liked this design because we just did a few tutorials on ads for a band. I thought the cleverness of text placement, color and gradients were very unique and it really brought out the text and helped the text stand out. I really like this design and it can inspire many.

I found this design in the book "World Graphic Design" by Geoffrey Caban. This design really caught my eye because we are currently working on a project similar to this. We are designing the cover of a CD album and this is a design of the CD itself. It has great use of text, imagery, and overall design. This design was used on the CD Cuadro De Horror. I thought this would be a great image for this week for some inspiration on my next project.

This piece of work was designed by Shepard Fairey for its client Grand Royal Records. I found this piece in the Extreme Design book by Spencer Drate. This piece was designed for a band to show their fans when their upcoming concerts are and where they are located. It looks very similar to some of the tutorials we've been doing in class and I was picking out the pieces I could create in Adobe Illustrator. I really liked this image because it's lous, vibrant and eye-catchy!

This image was found in the book "Extreme Design" by Spencer Drate. This piece was designed by Dennis Clouse and Traci Daberko for their client One Reel Productions. The concept was WOMAD; World Of Music Art and Dance. It is a 3-day musical and cultural celebration representing a diverse array of global talents annually held in Seattle's Marymoor Park. This piece was designed in the year 200o. I really liked the way the designers used some of the text in the composition and I think they got very creative with the layout.
